In the Decorative Vocabulary series, Bosmans uses the lexicon from his Legends in order to create his own decorations. On wooden step-like panels Bosmans combines various elements from his Legends. By giving the panel the functional shape of a flight of stairs, he emphasises the notion of decoration; the decoration does not, after all, contribute to the suggested function of the object.
